Please feel free to browse through the public pages of our site and contact us via the link on the left column if you'd like more information.
Join us at the Rush Fireman's Carnival on July 26th. We will be serving our famous chicken BBQ starting at noon until sold out.
Thank you for your continued support of Troop 134! Your order makes a difference in the lives of our local Scouts.
Welcome Back! Our first meeting will be on September 4th.
It's bring a friend night. Anyone you know who is interested in scouting would be welcome to a meeting. We also have to finish up any unused snacks from Massawepie.
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday is the day we leave. We ask all scouts that are going to arrive to the scout house by 7:30 am, plan to be on the road by 8. It is required to wear class A shirts while we are traveling to and from camp (pack a hanger to hang your class A in the tent). Neckerchief and slide are not required. The weather looks to be great but there is always a chance of rain during the week, pack your rain gear. Tupper Lake is the closest town if you want to look up what the weather will be like.
Scouts do need an allowance for camp and when we stop at Dairy Queen for lunch on the way there, Heids on the way home. There are a few merit badge classes, Basketry, Leatherwork, Space Exploration, Woodcarving, Animation that require scouts to purchase kits ranging from $3 to $20. Big Jakes is the place for snacks, slushies, etc. The kids love the bog water slushies and usually get the refillable bottle to use all week. The scout store has souvenirs, shirts, sweat shirts, etc. We usually recommend $50 to $100 for them to bring.
All food must be stored in the trailer. We will combine everyone's snack into totes and label each one with the scouts name. Bring a large tote if you have one.
Do not forget any pictures/paperwork of any pre-reqs that have been done before camp. Some scouts are doing e-prep and here is a link of what the packing lists should look like, a picture of what you put together is all that is needed to show at camp. Click Here for Lists The e-prep drill we went over is available on the troop website to print or show at camp.
Scouts can bring cell phones but are only to be used at our campsite, we prefer limited use when in camp but they are good way to report home. They can bring the phones to the merit badge classes to show any pictures of pre-reqs, etc. Coverage works well if you have Verizon, others not so much.
We expect to be back at the scout house on Saturday around 2-3 pm.
Finally, you can mail cards, packages to camp. It takes about 3-4 days for mail to reach a Scout once it is mailed (so plan accordingly). Mail should be addressed in the following manner:
ALL HANDS ON DECK!!! Well it is finally here and be ready for a crazy day!
